My Procrastination paid off

Several years ago we went to Disneyland for vacation.  The kids have been asking when we can go back (Hey!  Maybe next year when CTMH has our annual convention at Disneyland!)  So I thought I better finish our last Disney trip album before we go again.  Some of the photos I left didn’t go particularly well with the Giggles and Grins CTMH paper pack I made  most of the album with.  But they go PERFECTLY with the Zippidee paper pack from the summer Idea Book.  For once, my procrastination paid off!  It seems like that happens all the time, that I don’t have the perfect paper to go with photos and then CTMH comes out with the perfect paper eventually to match MY photos.

Recipe:  Zippidee paper pack & Stickease, Boys at Play stamp set, Cranberry stamp pad, Indian Corn Blue stamp pad, Cranberry ribbon, Summer buttons, White waxy flax, Cranberry bitty brads & Colonial White brads.

While I had the Zippidee paper pack out I made another layout with some not very good photos of the Disneyland Castle.  The stars and letters are from a promo awhile ago from CTMH called Dazzling Diecuts.

Here’s some good news for those of you who may have run out of CTMH paper pack while you were working on an album.  CTMH has all of these available in Studio J.  Grins and Giggles is available there along with many other retired paper packs.  AND some exclusive paper also.  Here’s an adorable one I made with the Splash Zone paper only available on Studio J:

Wait for a HUGE announcement Sept. 1 on new lower pricing on Studio J layouts!  YIPPPEEE!

July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Kim’s Blog you are on the right path.

I love these little hedgehogs.  Here’s the whole stamp set.

They are just adorable!

I made this stinking cute sample with the Hedgehogs and the Zippidee paper.

Next stop is  Nancy Brown.

Tip of the week – circle punch border

I simply can’t get enough of the fun new paper from Close To My Heart called Zippidee.   I also used the Hit the Spot stamp set for the stars and background paper on this layout.  I can see this stamp set quickly becoming a favorite with all sorts of sizes of dots and spots.

For the scalloped border along the bottom of the layout I used our new 1 1/4″ circle punch.  I flipped my paper over and lined it up on my VersaMat so 1/2″ was showing.  Then I laid a line of adhesive down on the back bottom of the patterned paper and lined up one circle after another keeping the circles with only a 1/2″ showing.

Recipe:  Zippiddee paper pack, Bambook cardstock, Dimensional elements stars, Giggle lower case, Cranberry stamp pad, sponge daubers, circle punch, colonial white waxy flax, black grads, Indian Corn Blue stamp pad and  Honey stamp pad.

It’s more Zippidee. Yipee!

As promised, here’s a super cute layout with the new paper pack from Close To My Heart, Zippidee.  Click on photo to enlarge.

I followed the sketch “Ensemble Piece” from Close To My Heart’s scrapbook design book Imagine for this layout.  I made just a few changes to suit my photos better.  I love using sketches for my scrapbook layouts.  The creative process is so much easier for me when I start with a sketch.   With all of Close To My Heart’s sketches you get the exact measurements to cut your paper, photos and embellishments.  Then you just lay them out following the guide.  Super easy with great results!

I used a couple of brand new products available from Close To My Heart in this layout also.  The little felt “Mickeys” are from the new Fancy Fuzz borders.  The brackets and frame around the “What a Thrill” are from the Irresistibles Pizzazz Dimensional Elements.  The fun thing about these is you sponge ink over them and the design on the chipboard appears white.  Also the Stars are new too.  One of the many Dimensional Element shapes we have.

Recipe:  Zippidee paper pack, What a Thrill stamp set, Friendship E & C alpha, Clear buttons, Red & Black grosgrain ribbon, Desert sand stamp pad, Black stamp pad and waxy flax, Indian Corn Blue stamp pad, Irresitibles Pizzazz & Stars Dimensional Elements.

Yippee, It’s Zippidee!

I love the new paper pack in the Summer Idea Book called Zippidee.   It is so my style:   I love the colors and the argyle pattern and dots are my favorites.  They can be used for lots of different themes too.  I have some disney layouts I did with them that I’ll photograph soon to show you.  In the meantime, here are some cards made with the Zippidee paper pack, Hit the Spot Stamp set and Thrill Ride stamp set.  The first one shows one of my new favorite products from this Summer Idea Book:  Clear cards.  This one is a scalloped circle but there is also a square clear card in the pack.  They are so fun to work with.  Be sure and peel the film off BOTH sides when working with these cards.  I paper pieced the carousel together to get the blue and red pieces.  CUTE!

Recipe:  Zippidee paper pack, Thrill Ride stamp set, Hit the Spot stamp set, DE Monogram U, Black stamp pad, Indian Corn Blue stamp pad, cranberry stamp pad, Black designer ribbon round, Desert sand stamp pad, Corner Rounder, Bitty Sparkles, Gear up stamp set and Zippidee fancy fuzz.
