Quick birthday card for a Man

Quick card.  Quick post.   I had to make a card for my son’s teacher today.   I don’t really know what his interests are so I just stuck with masculine colors and stayed away from my sports/hunting stamps.  I pulled out my Wishes book and saw a design that appealed to me:  Lower Layers.

I actually mixed and matched paper packs on a very minimal level here too.  Yes, I’m starting small and will move up to mixing paper packs on a scrapbook page someday.  Baby steps, you know.

Wooo Hooo!

My top team members get a card from me congratulating them on their accomplishments for the month.  I have some amazing ladies on my team – House O’ STARS – who inspire me with their accomplishments, both in CTMH and out.  The card below was sent out recently to some of my 1st and 2nd team members.

In the month of January when you join Close To My Heart as a consultant you get all the goodies below – PLUS the absolutely gorgeous Felicity kit.   I would be honored for you to consider me as your Close To My Heart Consultant/Director.  We have a team all over the country so you don’t have to live near me to be a consultant on my team.  Also, you would get early access to the new Studio J software to try your hand at studio scrapbooking.

Happy Birthday to my *OLDER* sis!

Here’s the bday card I made for my sister.  Unfortunately it’s still in my purse and didn’t make it to a mailbox like I wanted to yesterday.  I’ll get it sent today.  Hope you enjoy it!

Again, I’m stamplifting one of my CTMH sisters.  This time it was Michelle Nist.  She is one of my dearest friends in the whole wide world.

I’m Twitterpated!

Ok, I had never heard of this word, Twitterpated, before the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book was released.  Now I get it!  It means enamored or flighty, excited feeling.  And that I am with this paper pack from CTMH.  There are six patterns in the pack perfect for nature pictures, fall pictures, heritage pictures and more.  Here is my layout featuring Twitterpated.  I will put our family portrait on the left page and pictures of my parents and my husbands parents on the right side for the family tree side.

Twitterpated family layout

Thanks to my friend-Shannon-for the inspiration for this layout.  I almost completely stamplifted it.  Shannon is a great artist and a great friend!

Something I really liked on Shannon’s layout was the base pages were embossed and sanded to look like a brick wall.  To do so, simply use your paper trimmer with the scorer blade and score a line every 2″.  Turn a quarter turn and score every 4″ alternating lines.  So one line would be 4″ and 8″ and the other 2″, 6″ and 10″.  Then sand the raised lines.
