The most popular postings on my blog are my Teacher Appreciation postings. Every day, somebody is somewhere searching for Teacher Appreciation ideas and my blog comes up in the search. This is so great for the teachers of the world who deserve all the praise & appreciation they can get for all the sacrifices they make to educate our children. As a member of our school board I also see how much it costs to educate our children and how much is involved in the running of our school. My hat is off to the teachers, staff and administrators of the world! Any kudos they can get they deserve every bit of it.
Now the entrepreneur in me sees an opportunity to make custom invites for teacher appreciation week. Hmmmm….
For the 4th year now I’ve contributed to our Teacher Appreciation luncheon by making invitations. This year our theme was a dainty Tea Party: complete with tea cups, doily’s, fresh flowers, quiche, soup & fruit salad. Card design inspired by fellow CTMH consultant, Lisa Stenz.
All supplies available from Close To My Heart.
Recipe: Tea Time stamp set, Blush Cardstock & stamp pad, Chocolate stamp pad, That’s Amore paper (retired), Baby Pink ribbon (retired) & 3-D foam tape.

Waaaa….school is almost out for the summer. I’m sad cause that means another year has gone by and my kids are getting older. But I’m happy too cause that means we have lots of outdoor playtime ahead of us. My goal every summer is to keep the kids busy enough that they don’t fight all the time but also fun and relaxed so they say when they are older “Remember the summer of 2010? That was the best summer EVER!”
Anyway, I am making a few of these desktop card organizers for my son’s teachers this year. I’m filling it up with Thank You cards and other assorted sentiments so they always have a card on hand. I’m including envelopes and stamps. I’m going to package this up in cello and ribbon before I give it to them.
I found the template for the card organizer online. I printed it out, cut and folded where indicated and then decorated it. This one shown is in the lovely Veranda paper. I’m also making one in That’s Amore. Below are the cards I’m including. These were made following the designs in Wishes, our latest Card design book. Each set has 16 total cards in it. Hope they like it!
Recipe: Veranda Paper pack, That’s Amore Paper pack, Value pack Colonial white cards and envelopes, Gracious Greetings stamp set, Playful flourishes stamp set, Just Blooms Paper flowers in Spring Blossom and Big Pinks, Filigree charms, Juniper waxy flax, blush waxy flax, Tulip stamp pad, Juniper stamp pad, Craft buttons in Winter & Holiday, Colonial white brads
Same pattern, two different looks

I made these cards awhile ago and forgot to post them for you. Duh! I used a pattern from the book Wishes for these cards. Obviously one friend had a baby boy and the other had a baby girl. The boy card looks so whimsical with the Animal Crackers paper and the girl card looks so elegant with the That’s Amore paper pack.
Boy card Recipe: Animal Crackers paper pack, Sweet Baby stamp set, white ric-rac, Dutch Blue textured cardstock, brads & stamp pad, foam die-cut numbers, scalloped circle punches (non-CTMH), Summer craft buttons & colonial white waxy flax.
Girl card Recipe: Tha’s Amore paper pack, Sweet Baby stamp set, Colonial white ribbon rounds, Blush textured cardstock, brads & stamp pad, foam die-cut numbers, scalloped circle punches (non-CTMH), Clear craft buttons & colonial white waxy flax.
