Tip of the Month – Simple 3-D paper flowers

I’m on a kick right now where I like to make paper flowers for my paper projects.   Even if there is snow in the forecast there are still flowers in my life,  if only they are on my scrapbook pages and not in my  garden.  These flowers are very easy to make, look cute and are just slightly 3-D to give some depth to your scrapbook pages or cards.

To make:  Punch or cut two circles.  One slightly larger than the other.  Hold the two circles together, the smaller one centered on top over the larger circle.  Using your micro scissors take very small pie shaped cuts into the circles, being careful to not cut all the way to the center of the circle.  Then slightly offset your top circle over your bottom circle and adhere.  I added a button on top and some 3-d foam tape on bottom.

Here’s the whole layout:

There is a surprise behind the small photos which are mounted on 3-D foam tape.   I tucked in some tags with some adorable pictures of my sweet niece.

Recipe:  Miracle paper pack, A Hop stamp set, Token alphabet, 1 1/4 circle punch, ( 1 1/2 circle punch – nonCTMH), Scallop punch, Kraft color ready borders, Natural buttons, Colonial white waxy flax, desert sand stamp pad, Foam tool, 3-D foam tape, Sweet Leaf stamp pad, colonial white ribbon & brads.

Friendship – a Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our monthly Close To My Heart Blog Hop featuring the Stamp of the Month. This month we have an elegant set of stamps called Friendship. Here is the picture of the entire set of 8 stamps:

If you arrived here from Judy’s blog than you are on the right path.

(It is so difficult to get a picture of the silver pearl embossing.  Trust me, it is so much prettier in person.)

The background for this card was made with one of the damask stamps embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder repeatedly on the background paper. Silver Pearl is my favorite color of embossing because it is so elegant.

The paper on this card is called “Miracle” which is in the new SPRING/SUMMER 2011 Idea Book that is now available for purchase!

Please continue on your blog hop and follow this link to Cindy’s Blog.

This stamp set can only be purchased during the month of February. You can even get it for free – purchase $100 in product from the new Spring & Summer Idea Book and you can get this stamp set for free!

It’s a Miracle!

To celebrate National Scrapbooking Month Close To My Heart is offering a special paper pack, full-color directions and lots of accessories to complete the 2 layouts shown below.
Why is it a Miracle?  Well, for me it’s a miracle cause I already have my Easter photos on a layout just one week after Easter.  WOW!  But the real Miracle here is the great deal you can get on this paper.

Here’s my take on the kit.  I sponged my irresistable floral & butterfly die-cuts in Buttercup to match Alex’s shirt.   I did add a stamped image to the second page by the parentheses, otherwise everything else came in this kit.   And I have a lot left to make some additional cards.   Contact me to order yours, or better yet, get it for FREE by hosting a home gathering in April or May.

I did a lousy job photographing these.  Sorry about that.  They are so much prettier in person.  Why don’t you just get one yourself for $5 and see how easy these are to assemble and how pretty they are.
