February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  This month we have a great stamp set - Piece of Cake.  It is so fun and whimsical.  You’ll fall in love with all of the fun cakes, cupcakes and fantastic sentiments.

If you’ve come here from Jamia’s blog – you are on the right path.  Below the artwork you will find the the next blog to hop to for you to complete your blog hop.

For this month’s artwork I created a “waterfall card.”  As you pull the ribbon on the bottom of the card, new flaps fold up and additional artwork pops up.  I love these type of interactive cards.

Now go check out Debra’s  fabulous artwork using the February Stamp of the month.

**EDITED TO ADD DIRECTIONS**

I’ve had a lot of requests to add directions for this card.  So here you go.

The card base is a standard A2 size:  4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I added a layer of Topstitch paper on top measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  The chocolate band with the brads on it measures 1 x 4 1/4.

The colonial white strip for the interactive flaps  is 8 3/4 x 2 1/4. Each square is 2 1/4 x 2 1/4.  Then I stamped on smaller squares that were 2 x 2.

Score the strip at 5, 5 3/4 and 6 1/2.  Then fold as shown below:

I added an eyelet and ribbon on the bottom to make it easier to pull the strip.  I also added a sentiment that will be exposed when the strip is fully extended.

Insert the strip under the chocolate band, but do not adhere.

Take your squares and start adhering onto the strip.  The first one will be fully adhered onto the piece of the strip that meaures 2 1/4 x 2 1/4.   Then the second square goes onto the little section that was scored 3/4″  You only adhere the top part of this square.

Then adhere your final square onto the last 3/4″ that you scored.  Again, only adhere the top part of this square.

Finally you just add a line of ahesive onto the bottom half of the first square to adhere it to the chocolate band.  So this is the only part of the strip that is actually adhered to the card.
